Patricia McDonoughbegan working in the health care field in 1965 when she started as a Candy Striper at Milton Hospital. Patricia is a Certified Nursing Assistant, trained at the American Red Cross. She has had hospital, nursing home and home health care experience. Patricia has seen the heartbreak it brings when an elderly person has no alternative but to give up their home and enter a nursing home. She has also seen the joy of the elderly who are able to stay independent.
When Patricia's mother became incapacitated by a severe illness in 1990, she became the at home care giver for her mother for six years. It was wonderful to be able to have her mother stay at home in familiar surroundings, and to see how happy this made her.
Patricia's aunt recently became in need of assistance at the age of 95, and keeping her in her home was priceless. Helping the elderly stay at home became her passion and goal.
